Commercial Asphalt Paving Lancaster CA 5

Sectional Patching

Not all projects require complete reconstruction or an overlay. Sectional patching is often a reasonable solution to extend the life of your pavement

Commercial Asphalt Paving Lancaster CA 6

Full Depth Reclamation (FDR)

FDR involves taking the section requiring repair and pulverizing both the asphalt and its granular underlayment to produce a uniform, “stabilized base course” (SBC). FDR gives you a permanent fix (definitely not a “band aid”). Because it recycles existing material, it is considered one of the “greenest” techniques.

Commercial Asphalt Paving Lancaster CA 7

Mill & Fill

This consists of removing existing pavement with a milling machine to a depth of 1-2”, and then applying new asphalt mix.

Commercial Asphalt Paving Lancaster CA 8

Asphalt Removal & Replacement

Eventually, asphalt reaches the end of its life cycle. At that point the only realistic solution is to remove the existing pavement and replace it with new asphalt.

Say goodbye to stressing about paved areas when you work with GPM. Our asphalt team has the expertise to understand your needs and recommend a practical repair or installation plan that fits your budget.

“GPM, particularly our project manager Matt, understood our needs and expectations from day 1. As GM of a large HOA, I shared how we’ve been burned in the past by poor work product, communication, and corrective follow-up. Matt and his team exceeded expectations. They were punctual, honest, paid attention to details, proactively communicated, and produced a beautiful product (with minimal Residential disturbance).”

Asphalt Paving FAQs

What is the process in getting a paving quote from GPM?

It’s easy. Simply contact us through our website form and tell us about your potential paving project. We’ll get in touch and arrange an onsite visit to accurately assess your project. Your quote will include the cost of the project and an accurate timeframe for completion.

What asphalt mixture do you recommend for the Southern CA climate?

We use a variety of asphalt mix designs to best address every project needs. Hot mix asphalt is ideal for the warm California climate. We will assess which mix works best for your project, and also what type of aggregate will provide the best finished result. Larger aggregates like gravel are needed if the asphalt will be used by heavy commercial vehicles. Smaller aggregate presents a smoother look and is perfect for normal, everyday use.

How do you decide if asphalt or concrete works better?

Usually the type of project dictates whether we use asphalt or concrete. Asphalt is easier to install and usually costs less than concrete. It’s ideal for roads, parking lots, industrial properties, and multi-family or HOA units. However, concrete provides a stronger finished project than asphalt, so is often the best choice for heavy loads. Concrete is also preferred for sidewalks, curbs, ramps, gutters, patios, walkways, and water channels. Concrete can be stamped, colored and custom finished which offers many options for a touch of beauty to the finished product.

Do you work at night to help minimize disruptions to my business?

We don’t typically work at night, but we take a proactive approach to minimize disruptions to your business. We schedule our projects to the day and hour, so you know exactly when your project will begin and end. We also notify anyone affected by the work, whether they are business owners, homeowners, or tenants. We also zone off the project area prior to beginning so stakeholders are not surprised the day work begins. We take pride in our customer service and ensuring that tenants and property owners have a positive experience and as little disruption as possible. Lancaster is a charter city in northern Los Angeles County, California, in the Antelope Valley of the Mojave Desert. Lancaster is the 30th largest city in California, with a population of around 173,516 residents. It makes up half of a twin city complex along with its neighboring city, Palmdale, and together they make up the principal municipalities of the Antelope Valley region.

Lancaster lies just 70 miles north of downtown Los Angeles, and its residents have easy access to all the amenities and commerce of the city.

The origins of the name “Lancaster” are debated. Here is what the Lancaster, CA, homepage has to say about it:

“Some historians state that the name ”Lancaster” was bestowed upon the town by Mr. M.L. Wicks, a real estate developer who purchased six sections of land from the Southern Pacific Railroad in 1884 at a price of about $2.50 an acre. Prior to that date, in 1882, Mr. Wicks has started a Scottish settlement of about 150 persons in the Valley, presumably the town was a more permanent home for those people. The story goes on to say that he named the new city for his former home, Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Another version of the way Lancaster received its name attributes the deed to Mr. Purnell, a member of the Southern Pacific Railroad staff whose duties included the naming of all stations. His reasons, unfortunately, must remain obscure because all records were destroyed by fire in 1906.”
