Parking Lot Paving FAQs

What is the process of getting a quote with GPM to pave a parking lot?

It’s easy. Simply contact us through our website form and tell us about your potential paving project. We’ll get in touch and arrange an on-site visit to accurately assess your project. Your quote will include the cost of the project and an accurate timeframe for completion.

What asphalt mixture do you recommend for parking lots in the Southern California climate?

We use a variety of asphalt mix designs to best address every project’s needs and the unique features of your parking lot. Hot mix asphalt is ideal for the warm California climate. We will assess which mix works best for your project, and also what type of aggregate will provide the best finished result.

What is the average cost to pave a commercial parking lot?

Like any commercial construction project, it depends on a number of variables!

Here are some of the key things our team considers when we provide your parking lot paving quote:

  1. The material that will be used – will it be Asphalt or Concrete?
  2. The type of machinery and vehicles that will be using the parking lot
  3. The size of the parking lot
  4. If a new base is needed or if an existing base can be repaired and used

Please contact us, and we will provide you with a free estimate for your specific project.

Do you work at night to help minimize disruptions to my business?

We don’t typically work at night, but we take a proactive approach to minimize disruptions to your business. We schedule our projects to the day and hour, so you know exactly when your project will begin and end. We also notify anyone affected by the work, whether they are business owners, homeowners, or tenants. We also zone off the project area prior to beginning so stakeholders are not surprised the day work begins. We take pride in our customer service and ensuring that tenants and property owners have a positive experience and as little disruption as possible. GPM handles all types of phasing and traffic plans.

How soon does new parking lot pavement need regular maintenance?

New asphalt takes between six months and a year to fully cure. It shouldn’t need maintenance before then, but if you happen to notice any cracks or damage, notify your asphalt provider immediately. Your asphalt should be sealed after it cures. After that, we recommend sealing your asphalt every three to five years. You should also inspect your pavement at least once a year for cracks, potholes, and other damage.

Can GPM provide ADA compliance on my parking lot?

Yes, we can! Our team stays educated and up-to-date on all ADA compliance and makes sure your new parking lot is compliant. This especially applies to striping and marking, but other factors in your parking lot are important.
