Sectional Patching

Not all projects require complete reconstruction or an overlay. Sectional patching is often a reasonable solution to extend the life of your pavement

Full Depth Reclamation (FDR)

FDR involves taking the section requiring repair and pulverizing both the asphalt and its granular underlayment to produce a uniform, “stabilized base course” (SBC). FDR gives you a permanent fix (definitely not a “band aid”). Because it recycles existing material, it is considered one of the “greenest” techniques.

Mill & Fill

This consists of removing existing pavement with a milling machine to a depth of 1-2”, and then applying new asphalt mix.

Asphalt Removal & Replacement

Eventually, asphalt reaches the end of its life cycle. At that point the only realistic solution is to remove the existing pavement and replace it with new asphalt.

Say goodbye to poorly paved driveways, gravel/dirt areas, or failing asphalt. When you work with GPM, we take the stress out of any asphalt or paving project that you have at your business with a budget that works!

I am so very happy with the work GPM completed on my property. They arrived as scheduled and completed the job within the scope of time. The work itself turned out better than I ever hoped for. The project manager, Gabe and superintendent, Nicholas came out ahead of time to to evaluate the job and prepared me for the work to be done. I highly reccommend this company and working with Gabe was a pleasure.

I felt GPM did a wonderful job. I went down to watch them do the lower street and watching them pave was like poetry in motion. Everyone knew exactly what they were to do and kept moving very professionally. It was 100degrees out and they all wore masks the whole time. The job they did on the manhole covers is superb, you can’t even tell when you drive over one. Such an improvement to our property.

Asphalt Paving FAQs

What is the process of getting a paving quote with GPM?

It’s easy. Simply contact us through our website form and tell us about your potential paving project. We’ll get in touch and arrange an onsite visit to accurately assess your project. Your quote will include the cost of the project and an accurate timeframe for completion.

How do you decide if asphalt or concrete works better?

Usually the type of project dictates whether we use asphalt or concrete. Asphalt is easier to install and usually costs less than concrete. It’s ideal for roads, parking lots, industrial properties, and multi-family or HOA units. However, concrete provides a stronger finished project than asphalt, so is often the best choice for heavy loads. Concrete is also preferred for sidewalks, curbs, ramps, gutters, patios, walkways, and water channels. Concrete can be stamped, colored and custom finished which offers many options for a touch of beauty to the finished product.

How soon does new asphalt typically need regular maintenance?

New asphalt takes between six months and a year to fully cure. It shouldn’t need maintenance before then, but if you happen to notice any cracks or damage, notify your asphalt provider immediately. Your asphalt should be sealed after it cures. After that, we recommend sealing your asphalt every three to five years. You should also inspect your pavement at least once a year for cracks, potholes, and other damage.

My asphalt is starting to crack - do I need to replace it?

No, but cracking is serious because it can quickly spread and cause more damage. If you see cracks, call us immediately. We will crack seal the asphalt if damage is minimal, or we may patch the asphalt if it is more extensive. The sooner cracks are fixed, the less damage they cause and the less it will cost to repair the asphalt.

The city has a lovely Mediterranean climate and has been described as the “American Riviera.” It is a popular tourist destination, owing to its location right on the coast and its beautiful resorts. According to the 2020 census the city’s population was 88,665.

In addition to tourism, the city of Santa Barbara has a diverse and thriving economy that includes a service sector, education, technology, health care, finance, agriculture, manufacturing, and local government. Education is particularly well-represented, with four institutions of higher learning located on the south coast: the University of California, Santa Barbara City College, Westmont College, and Antioch University.

The Ynez Mountains make a scenic backdrop for the town, covered in chaparral, oaks, and sandstone outcrops.
